    Clarity Coaching is a leadership coaching and mentoring practice set up by Jo Gibson and designed specifically for SME owners and their teams. Using her 25+ years of leading businesses – from start ups to PLCs – across multiple sectors, Jo provides practical, no-nonsense coaching and mentoring that helps business owners navigate growth, lead with confidence and build high-performing teams without the corporate jargon or theoretical frameworks that don't translate to real-world challenges.

  • How does Clarity Coaching solve this problem?

    With a straightforward, results-focused approach built from Jo’s own experiences, it starts with a free discovery call to understand you and your business and the hurdles you need to overcome. Following this we design a coaching programme tailored to your needs - whether that's one-to-one leadership coaching and mentoring, team development, or strategic clarity sessions. We meet regularly either face to face or online and tackle real issues and implement practical solutions that create measurable change. As your business evolves, the coaching adapts with you.

  • What kind of businesses do you work with?

    Primarily small business owners and leadership teams, typically with 5-50 employees. My background is in commercial interiors, design, media and manufacturing, but I work across all sectors. If you're a small business owner or leader who wants practical coaching that gets results, Jo will likely be a good fit.

  • Do you offer one-off sessions or is it a long-term commitment?

    Both! Some clients prefer ongoing fortnightly or monthly coaching, while others start with a one-off strategy session. We'll discuss what makes sense for you during the discovery call and rest assured that there's no pressure to commit to anything long-term if that's not what you need.

  • What's Jo's coaching style?

    Direct, practical and human. I don’t believe in corporate jargon or fancy theory-based frameworks that don't work for real, small businesses. My approach is to get to know you by listening, asking tough questions, offering honest feedback, sharing my experience when it’s helpful to, and helping you implement strategies that actually work. Think of it as having a trusted advisor who tells you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear.

  • How long does coaching take to show results?

    Most clients start seeing shifts within the first 4-6 weeks - whether that's increased clarity, better decision-making, or improved team dynamics. But real, lasting change takes time - a minimum 3-month commitment is typically recommended to get the full benefit, though some clients continue working together for years as their businesses evolve.

  • Do you work in-person or virtually?

    Both! In-person sessions are available if you're local, or we can work virtually via Zoom or Teams. Many clients prefer virtual sessions for the flexibility, but in-person can be powerful for team workshops and intensive strategy sessions. We’ll work out what will work best for you and build that into the plan.

  • What happens in a discovery call?

    It's a relaxed, no-pressure conversation (usually 30-45 minutes) where we get to know each other.  We'll talk about your business, your current challenges and what you're hoping to achieve from working with me. If we agree that we’re a good fit for each other, we’ll discuss how Clarity Coaching can help. If it's not the right fit, we need to be honest with each other… I may be able to point you towards someone better suited to you.
